FBBGSA is looking for people with :-

• Organisation skills for project work
• Good communication skills to network with other providers
• Attention to detail when completing paperwork
• Ability to reconcile jobs with timelines and payments
• And must be a FBBGSA member (or prepared to join).

We wish to access grants from a range of options to complete several projects now and in the near future.  To achieve this we need a person with the above skills prepared to do it on a voluntary basis.  

Secondly we wish to prepare FBBGSA for tax deductible donations.  This will require a recommended Lawyer who is prepared to do this work at a reduced rate.  The Board Members believe this will assist us in acquiring donations for projects also. 

Our third request is for an Auditor recommendation.  Whilst we do not have to have the accounts audited for the Australian Charity and Not-for-Profit Communities (ACNC) on the basis of openness and accountability to our members the Board would like to restart this process.

And we would like to have more Board members.  This may be as an Assistant to the Secretary, Treasurer and/ or Director.  These positions may come from inside or outside of the organisation as long as you are committed to the ongoing viability of FBBGSA and prepared to join FBBGSA as a member.   

Board members are receiving great comments from the Botanic Gardens staff about our organisation.  We have found the staff to be very interested in working with us and helping when they can. 

FBBGSA is starting to obtain more members and we hope this continues as a sign of the importance of the role FBBGSA plays with this valuable Botanic Gardens.  The Olympics are a few years away – close enough to realise the Botanic Gardens in all 3 sites will be in demand as a tourist opportunity.  Let’s make the most of it!
