Report: Opening of the Greenhouse at Rocks Riverside Park, 17 Mile Rocks

We have started to propagate plants and set it up to work efficiently for us.  Six members attended on the day – some bringing pots, plant material and ideas.  The 2 hour slot went quickly  – no time for a cuppa break – but lots of jolly talk and great team work.

A special thank you goes to Mary Jo to finalise the preparations to begin the work and to the “regulars” and some who were swept up in the fun of the day.

Currently the plan is every Tuesday morning (9am till 11.30-12) the greenhouse will be open; members will check on the plants in between weeks.  As production builds up other mornings may become available.

Anyone interested in joining us?  You must be a FBBGSA (Friends of Brisbane Botanic Gardens) member, wear covered in shoes, long sleeves, hat especially in summer and bring water and a snack.  Not a member? Join HERE.  If you are a member, register HERE.

We will happily accept donations of pots and trays (must be cleaned beforehand due to Fire Ant Policy in the Park), potting soil, irrigation systems etc.  Contact Secretary@fbbgsa.org.au if you wish to discuss this.
